I’m a mom to two boys who are practically fish and love being in the water. We also happen to live in the Pacific Northwest where we’re surrounded by water activities in the summer. While my husband and kids played in the water I’ve always stood by the shore or the side of pool wanting to join in but afraid to because of my inability to swim. I’ve tried taking swim lessons with many different companies in the U.S. including one that’s just for adults and charge upwards of $300 per swim lesson. None of them were able to truly help me.
Last month a situation arose where I needed to be in Bangkok for a month and I looked around for swim lessons. I’m so glad I found Swimming Bangkok. I had a trial with two coaches and went with the elite coach, Tony. Right from the first class we were able to accomplish a lot. Every class I came away with a new skill. He was amazing at breaking down the steps, teaching very specific step until mastered and then incorporating them all together. In 9 sessions, I went from being afraid of the water to swimming breaststroke from the deep end of the pool to the other end. Immediately after returning to the U.S. my family went to Maui, Hawaii and I was finally able to swim with my husband and my sons and go snorkeling! It was so fulfilling to be able to enjoy being in the water with my kids after all these years of just standing ashore.
Other instructors have not been able to meet me where I was nor were they able to ascertain what I was capable of doing and where I needed just a little push or encouragement. Tony was very intuitive and knew me exactly and how to teach me. He has a tried and true process and the process works! When I go back I’ll be taking more lessons from him because I really want to make swimming a part of my fitness. Without Tony’s help I could only dream of it. Tony makes your swimming dreams come true. He’s an excellent swim coach!
